Azerbaijani, Turkish leaders discuss bilateral ties and regional stability in Bishkek PHOTO / UPDATED

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, on September 1, according to information published on the official website of the Azerbaijani head of state.

The two leaders described Azerbaijan-Türkiye relations as being based on brotherhood and strategic alliance and expressed satisfaction with the expansion of bilateral ties across various areas.

They also highlighted the continued close alignment between the two countries in line with the principle of “one nation, two states.”

Aliyev and Erdoğan exchanged views on further efforts to strengthen regional peace and stability.

The presidents also discussed the prospects for their bilateral alliance, the regional agenda and other issues of mutual interest.
