Azerbaijani, UAE presidents observe joint military drills in Abu Dhabi PHOTO
On February 3, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, observed the ongoing joint operational-tactical exercise Peace Shield–2026 in Abu Dhabi, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani president’s website.
The exercise, involving military personnel from the armed forces of Azerbaijan and the UAE, included tasks such as detecting and neutralising illegal armed groups, regaining control of a seized vessel, neutralising terrorists, rescuing hostages, evacuating the wounded, preventing riots and sabotage in populated areas that threaten public safety, and conducting fire prevention operations.
The purpose of the exercises is to improve the professional skills of Azerbaijani and UAE forces in conducting counterterrorism operations, promote sustainable peace, and facilitate mutual exchange of experience.
