Azerbaijani, Uzbek leaders exchange holiday greetings, review bilateral ties
On March 19, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation, according to the official website of the Azerbaijani head of state.
During the call, Mirziyoyev extended his congratulations to Aliyev and the Azerbaijani people on the upcoming holidays of Ramadan and Novruz, conveying his best wishes. Aliyev expressed gratitude for the message and reciprocated by congratulating Mirziyoyev and the people of Uzbekistan, wishing them continued well-being and prosperity.
The two leaders reviewed key aspects of the strategic alliance between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, noting with satisfaction the steady and successful development of bilateral relations across a wide range of sectors.
Regional developments were also discussed, with both presidents expressing concern over the evolving situation in the Middle East. They emphasised the importance of de-escalating tensions through political and diplomatic channels.
The conversation also included an exchange of views on issues of mutual interest and prospects for future high-level contacts.
