Bilateral ties, regional strategy on agenda as Azerbaijani leader meets Uzbek counterpart in Tashkent UPDATED / PHOTO
On November 15, Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, held a one-on-one meeting with Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in Tashkent.
According to domestic media, during the meeting, both leaders highlighted the successful development of Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan relations, which are grounded in a strategic partnership and alliance.
The discussion underscored the importance of President Ilham Aliyev’s regular visits to Uzbekistan, as well as President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s visits to Azerbaijan, in fostering closer ties between the two nations.
The presidents expressed satisfaction with the significant expansion of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the countries of Central Asia in recent years. They particularly noted the importance of President Aliyev’s participation in the 7th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia in strengthening regional collaboration.
The conversation also provided an opportunity for the heads of state to exchange views on the future prospects of bilateral relations and potential areas for further cooperation.
