Baku hosts large-scale emergency response drills involving 1,250 personnel PHOTO
A large-scale operational-tactical drills titled "Baku 2025," on the topic of organisation of interaction with State Bodies in the field of prevention and elimination of emergency situations was held at the Baku International Sea Port in the Alat settlement of Azerbaijan's Garadagh district.
Organised by Azerbaijan's Emergencies Ministry, the Baku 2025 drill brought together representatives from multiple government institutions and international observers. The exercise aimed to test and strengthen interagency cooperation in responding to large-scale emergencies, Caliber.Az reports viam local media.
Minister of Emergency Situations Colonel General Kamaladdin Heydarov personally observed the drill, alongside high-ranking officials from the International Civil Defence Organisation, the Ministries of Defence, Internal Affairs, and Digital Development and Transport, as well as representatives from SOCAR, bp, ANAMA, TABIB, AZCON, the State Agency for the Protection of Strategic Facilities, the State Reserves Agency, and the Public Council under the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The comprehensive exercise focused on evaluating the real-time capabilities of rescue forces and equipment, enhancing command management systems, and ensuring effective coordination among state agencies.
A total of 1,250 personnel took part in the drill, supported by 277 specialized vehicles, 8 helicopters, and 14 search-and-rescue dogs.
Officials noted that the drill successfully met its objectives, demonstrating improved operational readiness and robust cooperation among the participating agencies.
