Baku hosts official welcome ceremony for Italian President Sergio Mattarella PHOTO

Baku hosted an official welcome ceremony for President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella, who arrived in Azerbaijan for an official visit on September 30.

A guard of honour was arranged in a square adorned with the national flags of both countries. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev personally welcomed President Mattarella upon his arrival, Caliber.Az reports per local media. 

During the ceremony, the chief of the guard of honour reported to the Italian president, and the national anthems of Italy and Azerbaijan were played. The guard of honour then marched in front of both leaders to the accompaniment of a military march.
