Bangladesh in crisis: Over 560 killed in weeks of violent protests, clashes
The recent wave of unrest in Bangladesh has claimed over 560 lives, marking one of the deadliest periods of violence in the country in recent history.
The casualties span several weeks of intense protests, riots, and clashes, fueled by widespread dissatisfaction and political turmoil, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
As of the evening of August 7, the situation remains dire, with 232 deaths recorded in just three days following the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. This surge in violence has compounded an already grave situation that began earlier in July.
From July 16 to August 4, approximately 328 people were reported dead in ongoing clashes. The unrest has been characterized by fierce confrontations between demonstrators and security forces, leading to significant casualties and widespread damage.
