Top Palestinian Islamic Jihad member killed in Israeli airstrike in Gaza

A senior figure in the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement has been killed in an Israeli airstrike in the Gaza Strip, according to a joint statement released by the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) and the Shin Bet security agency.

The strike, carried out on July 13, targeted Raed Khaled Hassan Jabin, who was described by the Israeli military as a "key" operative in the militant group, Caliber.Az reports, citing Israeli media.

Authorities said he was involved in the transfer of funds intended to support terror-related activities in the West Bank.

Jabin had previously served a prison sentence in Israel from 2006 to 2015 due to his involvement in Islamic Jihad operations, according to the IDF.
