Belarus demands EU intervention after Ukrainian drone incursions
The Belarusian Foreign Ministry has called on the European Union to influence Ukraine regarding the strike drones that were recently shot down over Belarusian territory.
"Belarus, which consistently advocates for a peaceful resolution of the crisis through negotiations, urges the European Union to take all possible measures to influence the Ukrainian leadership in order to prevent similar actions in the future," the Ministry stated, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
To convey this message to the European Union, the EU chargé d'affaires in Belarus, Steen Nørlov, was summoned to the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.
Previously, the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs drew the attention of the UN Security Council Chairman to the danger of Ukrainian provocations, whose drones were recently shot down in Belarusian airspace.
On August 9, a group of strike drones launched from Ukrainian territory violated Belarusian airspace. As a result, air defence systems were activated and the drones were shot down.
