Poland defuses unexploded bomb dating back to World War II

An operation to defuse and remove an unexploded aerial bomb dating back to World War II began in the Polish city of Szczecin on the morning of September 21.

The Polish Government Security Centre (RCB) and the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) said the bomb was discovered near the Kijewo interchange, Caliber.Az reports, citing Polish media.

The A6 motorway has been closed between the Szczecin-Podjuchy and Szczecin-Dąbie sections while the operation is underway.

The bomb weighs approximately 250 kilogrammes.

It was found on Friday, September 18, in a forest near the Kijewo interchange.
