BIG among key drivers of decolonisation agenda, executive director says

The Baku Initiative Group (BIG) has been among the most active contributors to the international decolonisation agenda over the past three years, its Executive Director Abbas Abbasov said on July 11.

Speaking to journalists, Abbasov said the organisation had helped raise global awareness of the consequences of colonial-era policies and crimes, as well as developments in ongoing decolonisation efforts.

According to local media, Abbasov said BIG had worked to elevate the issue within international institutions and across multiple platforms.

“Thanks to the constructive activities of our organisation, we have been able to bring this issue to the attention of international organisations across various platforms. Undoubtedly, media representatives and news agencies have played an important role in this process,” he said.
