Bilateral relations on agenda as Azerbaijani president meets Russian Federation Council speaker PHOTO

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by Valentina Matviyenko, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia, to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, the sides explored various aspects of bilateral relations, particularly focusing on inter-parliamentary ties between Azerbaijan and Russia, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

They also discussed cooperation in the political, economic, humanitarian, and other spheres.

Matviyenko expressed her condolences over the tragic crash of the Baku-Grozny flight operated by Azerbaijan Airlines. She assured that the incident is currently under investigation by Russian investigative bodies, and an objective assessment will be provided.

The sides further exchanged views on continuing and strengthening contacts between the parliaments of Azerbaijan and Russia.
