Bloomberg: UK preparing troop deployment plans for post-war Ukraine
The United Kingdom has clarified its plans for deploying military units to Ukraine as it prepares for a possible end to the war and participation in a peace settlement.
According to Bloomberg, following summer reconnaissance missions and readiness assessments, Britain has determined which troops and units will be sent to Ukraine, as well as where their headquarters will be located.
These measures form part of a 30-nation coalition led by the UK and France, aimed at supporting Ukraine in the event of a peace agreement being reached.
The Defence Secretary emphasised that the plans will be coordinated with allies and adapted to the conditions of any future peace arrangement.
Britain intends to allocate resources for the rapid deployment of its units in the country, including the possibility of training Ukrainian forces inside Ukraine itself.
Coordination of multinational forces will be carried out through a group headed by a British two-star officer.
The plans also include expanding the Black Sea task force of Türkiye, Romania and Bulgaria to safely secure maritime routes and conduct port demining operations.
The deployment of units is planned away from the front line, with the aim of safely supporting the restoration of Ukraine’s military capabilities and infrastructure.
