US blockade could cost Washington more than Iran, IRGC warns

The US economic and maritime blockade against Iran could ultimately inflict greater costs on Washington than on Tehran, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has warned.

“If the US wants to inflict $1 of economic damage on Iran, it may face several dollars in costs and losses itself,” IRGC spokesman Brigadier-General Hossein Mohibi told Mehr news agency.

Mohibi said US President Donald Trump believes Washington can force Tehran into submission through its military power, but recent developments have demonstrated otherwise.

He added that the US will fail to prevail through its attacks and sanctions against Iran.
