China warns against breaking global supply chains
China has warned that artificially severing and forcibly restructuring global supply chains would result in significant economic losses and harm all parties involved.
Speaking about the possibility of the United States and the European Union reducing their reliance on Chinese manufacturing capacity, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said such measures run counter to economic realities and business interests, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
"Artificially cutting ties, erecting barriers and forcibly restructuring supply chains will not only entail high economic costs, but also contradict economic laws and the choices of businesses," Lin noted.
"Ultimately, this will force all parties to pay an even higher price and will damage their interests," he added.
Lin stressed that security is achieved through cooperation rather than isolation and said maintaining the stability of global production and logistics chains is a shared responsibility of all countries.
According to the spokesman, China intends to continue opening up its economy and offering high-quality products and new opportunities for cooperation to the global market.
