Power outages hit three Ukrainian regions after infrastructure damage

03 September 2026 11:28

Power outages have been reported in parts of Ukraine’s Kyiv, Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions after infrastructure was damaged, Ukraine’s Energy Ministry said on Thursday, September 3.

According to the ministry, some residents in the three regions are currently without electricity as a result of damage to energy infrastructure.

In the Odesa region, restoration work is continuing following extensive damage to infrastructure facilities, the ministry said. Scheduled electricity restrictions will remain in place in the region while repairs are carried out.

Meanwhile, national grid operator Ukrenergo urged consumers to postpone the use of high-powered electrical appliances until daytime hours, when solar power plants operate most efficiently. The measure is intended to reduce pressure on the electricity grid and help prevent overloads.
