Czech Republic annihilates 12 million COVID vaccines

More than 12 million doses of coronavirus vaccines were destroyed in the Czech Republic because they had expired.

The announcement came from the Spokesperson of the National Ministry of Health Ondřej Jakob.

“We are talking about a little more than 12 million doses of COVID vaccines [total] costing 4.7 billion [Czech] crowns,” the news portal Seznam.cz quotes Jakob as saying, reports TASS.

The destroyed drugs account for approximately one-third of the 35 million doses of vaccines purchased by the republic during the pandemic.

During the pandemic, the Czech Republic provided vaccine assistance to countries in need. They were given 3.5 million doses worth 883 million Czech crowns (€37 million).
