Erdogan congratulates President Aliyev on his birthday, Azerbaijan's accession to D-8
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has made a phone call to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, congratulating him on his birthday.
During the phone conversation, Erdogan congratulated Ilham Aliyev on his birthday, wished him success in his activity and good health, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani president's press service.
Ilham Aliyev thanked for the attention and congratulations.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan congratulated Ilham Aliyev on Azerbaijan's accession to the Economic Cooperation Organization of Eight Developing States (D-8).
Ilham Aliyev, in turn, once again expressed gratitude for Türkiye's support to Azerbaijan in this issue.
The leaders discussed the normalisation of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as regional security issues during the talk. The sides noted with satisfaction the progress in Syria after the fall of the Assad regime and agreed on joint efforts for the socio-economic development of the country.
The president expressed confidence that friendly and brotherly relations, strategic alliance between the two countries will continue to develop successfully in all spheres, shared views on prospects of cooperation and further contacts.
Notably, today, December 24, marks a special occasion for Azerbaijan as President Ilham Aliyev celebrates his 63rd birthday. His leadership has become synonymous with resilience, progress, and national pride.
President Aliyev’s tenure has been defined by transformative achievements, including the historic liberation of Azerbaijani territories — an event that reshaped the nation’s destiny and symbolized the triumph of justice and determination.
