Erdogan: Israeli collective attacks on Gaza constitute war crimes

22 November 2023 11:31

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that Türkiye in no way accepts Israeli attacks, which amount to collective punishment and constitute war crimes.

Erdogan made the remarks at a joint press conference following a meeting with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Anadolu reports.

The head of state called the attacks on hospitals, places of worship, schools, places that should be protected in all respects, as well as the forced migration of people in Gaza, unconscionable and barbaric.

“Our priority is the establishment of a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to the region,” the Turkish leader said.

The president noted that he watches the news in the press and makes the necessary contribution to the process of establishing peace.

“The creation of a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, is now inevitable. We will continue to do our best in this direction. We stated that we are ready to take responsibility as a guarantor together with the countries of the region in establishing a just peace that Israel and Palestine will agree on,” Erdogan emphasized.
