The Turkish Armed Forces and National Intelligence Organisation (MIT) have struck a major blow to terrorist groups with a successful operation in Northern Iraq, neutralising Halil Yiğit, codenamed "Hogir Pirosi," a key military intelligence official in the PKK/KCK.
This recent operation follows a series of effective strikes against terrorist factions by both the Turkish Armed Forces and MIT, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.
The intelligence-gathering efforts of MIT pinpointed Yiğit's location in Iraq’s Gara region, where he was found to have orchestrated attacks against Turkish security forces under the directives of the PKK/KCK's senior leaders.
Yiğit, a wanted terrorist implicated in numerous crimes, had been placed on a high-priority target list. His location, determined through meticulous intelligence work, was monitored closely. The operation was executed at the optimal moment, resulting in the neutralisation of this high-profile PKK/KCK operative.
