Putin places US company under management linked to Kadyrov’s nephew

Russian President Vladimir Putin has transferred the American packaging manufacturer Aptar Vladimir to the temporary management of Logika Moloka, a company headed by Yakub Zakriev, the nephew of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, ASTRA reports.

Zakriev is the son of Kadyrov’s full sister and also heads the Chechen Ministry of Agriculture.

In 2023, after Putin ordered the transfer of Danone’s Russian business to the management of the Federal Agency for State Property Management, Zakriev became chief executive of the nationalised company.

Putin removed Danone from state control in March 2024. In May that year, Danone announced the sale of its Russian business to Vamin R, a Tatarstan-based company owned by Ruslan Alisultanov, a former deputy agriculture minister of Chechnya.

In April this year, it emerged that Serbia had revoked its decision to grant Alisultanov citizenship.
