US blocks visas for Pezeshkian’s media team ahead of UN General Assembly

The United States has refused to issue visas to members of President Masoud Pezeshkian’s media team, forcing him to travel to New York for the UN General Assembly without them, an Iranian official said on September 21.

Habibollah Abbasi, the president’s office director-general for public relations, called the US decision a “hostile act,” Iran International reports.

Pezeshkian is scheduled to travel to New York on September 22 to attend the 81st session of the UN General Assembly and address the gathering on September 23, presenting Iran’s position on major international developments, particularly the conflict with the United States and Israel.

He is also expected to hold meetings and consultations with the leaders of several countries on the sidelines of the General Assembly.
