Erdoğan turns Independence Day message into powerful unity pledge for Azerbaijan
Turkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has extended congratulations to President Ilham Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan on the occasion of Azerbaijan’s Independence Day, emphasising the enduring strength of bilateral ties.
In his message, Erdoğan conveyed greetings “on behalf of my nation and myself,” marking the national celebration and highlighting what he described as Azerbaijan’s growing regional and international standing under President Aliyev’s leadership, Caliber.Az reports, citing state media.
He stressed that the deep-rooted friendship between Türkiye and Azerbaijan, built on shared history and the principle of “One Nation, Two States” attributed to National Leader Heydar Aliyev, continues to strengthen day by day.
Erdoğan noted that Ankara remains committed to further expanding cooperation with Baku across all fields, reinforcing what he called a unique strategic partnership.
“I am confident that our strong solidarity, cooperation, and joint projects will continue to make significant contributions to the well-being of our peoples, as well as to peace, stability, and development in our region in the period ahead. It is also gratifying to see the positive impact and contribution of the spirit of brotherhood and solidarity between Türkiye and Azerbaijan on the development of our cooperation and solidarity throughout the Turkic world, particularly under the umbrella of the Organization of Turkic States,” the Turkish leader said.
Concluding his message, Erdoğan wished President Aliyev good health and success, and extended continued prosperity and progress to the people of Azerbaijan, reiterating his congratulations on the country’s Independence Day.
