EU high rep: Russia's terrible war concerns everyone
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell has said that Russia's aggression against Ukraine is not just a war affecting Europe or a Western conflict, but an international conflict of extreme gravity.
“In the face of aggression, no one can be neutral,” Caliber.Az reports referring to Borrell’s message on Twitter.
Thus, he said at the opening meeting of the G20 foreign ministers on July 7, that the system of multilateral relations is under unprecedented pressure when we greatly need it.
“Today's meeting of the G20 foreign ministers is being held in a very important format after the terrible war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine. Russia's aggression constitutes a blatant violation of international law,” Borrell said.
He noted that it leads to the fragmentation of the world order, and endangers the global economic recovery.
“No one can live safely in a world where the illegal use of force is normalised or tolerated. I urged all participants to help end the war, to restore Ukraine’s sovereignty and to ensure that the global fallout is contained,” Borrell added.
