Gas prices in Bulgaria to decrese in October

The Energy and Water Regulatory Commission of Bulgaria has accepted the proposal of the Bulgarian gas distribution company Bulgargaz to reduce gas prices by 34 per cent from October 1, BTV reported.

The cost of the blue fuel in September hit 353,063 levs (about €180) without additional payments per megawatt-hour and was a record for the country. Now the price will drop to 233.36 levs (about €116.5).

At the end of April, the Russian state energy company Gazprom notified Bulgargaz that it was halting gas supplies from April 27 because Sofia refused to pay for energy supplies in Russian rubles.
