German police deem Swedish activist as "prone to violence" ahead of pro-Palestine protest VIDEO
German authorities have classified Swedish activist Greta Thunberg as "prone to violence" following her involvement in a series of pro-Palestine demonstrations, according to Dortmund police.
In a statement released on October 8, the police revealed that they had decided to disperse a camp of pro-Palestine protesters in Dortmund after receiving information that Thunberg might attend, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
“The Dortmund police have predicted a danger in connection with this meeting. The announced visit of Thunberg led to the conclusion that more people would gather at the event site than was announced,” the statement explained.
The police further noted that the timeframe for registering the meeting would be breached and added, “Recent events involving Thunberg have led to her being assessed as prone to violence.”
Reports from German media indicate that Thunberg ultimately did not attend the demonstration. This incident is not an isolated one; last month, she was detained in Copenhagen during a protest against the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
A spokesperson for the student group organising that demonstration confirmed her arrest, stating, “I can’t confirm the names of those arrested, but six people have been arrested in connection with the demonstration.”
Thunberg herself shared images on Instagram depicting riot police entering a building where students were protesting.
