Israeli forces kill dozens of armed radicals in expanded Gaza operation
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have expanded their military operation to new areas within the Gaza Strip, killing dozens of armed radicals in ongoing clashes in the Palestinian enclave, according to a statement from the IDF press service reported by Caliber.Az.
“Over the past several days, the 36th Division has extended its operations into new areas in the Gaza Strip, destroying dozens of terrorists and hundreds of terrorist infrastructure targets both above ground and underground,” the IDF press release said.
The military specified that in the past 24 hours, the 162nd Division eliminated eight terrorists located in an operational command post, while soldiers of the 99th Division, with the support of the air force, killed two radicals attempting to plant an explosive device.
“In addition, naval forces struck several targets in the southern Gaza Strip,” the statement added, noting that the Israeli Air Force attacked 140 militant military targets in the enclave over the past day.
The current escalation follows the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led attack on Israel, which, according to Israeli figures, killed over 1,200 people and led to the capture of 251 hostages, prompting Israel’s large-scale military response. By July 2025, the conflict has resulted in significant casualties, with the Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry reporting over 56,000 Palestinian deaths.
