German President Steinmeier receives official welcome in Azerbaijan

On April 2, an official welcoming ceremony was held for the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

The ceremony took place in a square where the flags of both countries were waving, and an honor guard was arranged in honor of the German President, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva welcomed President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and First Lady Elke Büdenbender.

The commander of the honor guard presented a report to the German President.

The national anthems of both the Federal Republic of Germany and the Republic of Azerbaijan were played.

The honor guard marched in front of Presidents Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Frank-Walter Steinmeier of Germany to the sound of a military march.

The heads of state then posed for an official photograph.
