Hezbollah launches 230 rockets, 20 drones towards Israel, says IDF
On August 25, Hezbollah militants managed to launch only 230 rockets and 20 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that flew into Israeli territory, said Israel Defence Forces (IDF) spokesman Daniel Hagari.
He made the remarks during an evening briefing, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
According to him, most of the rockets fired by the radicals after the pre-emptive Israeli strike “fell either on their way to Israeli territory, or in unpopulated areas, or were intercepted by the air defence systems of the Israeli Air Force and ships of the Israeli Navy.”
“Contrary to Hezbollah's claims, there were no hits on IDF bases either in the north or in the centre,” he added.
Hagari noted that the Israeli military had been “monitoring Hezbollah for weeks, using technical means and air patrols.”
“Once we identified Hezbollah's intention to carry out a large-scale attack, we thwarted most of the attack,’ he added.
“The movement attempted to inflict serious damage on northern and central Israel, but was met with an iron fist,” he concluded.
