Trump slams US media, claims "no more fair press" in America
US President Donald Trump has launched a scathing critique of the American media, accusing them of distorting information and lacking honesty in their reporting.
In a post shared on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump expressed frustration with what he perceives as widespread bias in the press, Caliber.Az reports.
“We don’t have a free and fair “press” in this country anymore. We have a press that writes bad stories, and cheats, big, on polls. It is compromised and corrupt. Sad!” Trump noted.
To recall, voter dissatisfaction with President Trump's handling of the economy is eroding his popularity as he nears the 100-day mark of his second term, intensifying pressure on congressional Republicans to advance his tax reform plan. A series of recent polls from NBC, CNN, New York Times/Siena, ABC News, and Fox News reveal a consistent theme: voters believe Trump is failing to deliver on his key campaign promise to bolster the economy. The president’s chaotic implementation of tariffs in early April sent shockwaves through global markets, further amplifying concerns.
A CNN poll released on April 27 indicated that only 39 per cent of Americans approve of Trump's economic leadership, the lowest approval rating of his two terms in office. Similarly, an NBC News poll found that Trump's tariff policies are deeply unpopular, with just 39 per cent of respondents supporting the tariff rollout.
Trump rode the twin issues of the economy and immigration to his November election victory, sweeping each of the swing states and winning the popular vote.
