Kuwait and Pakistan have signed a joint defence and military cooperation agreement during Kuwaiti Defence Minister Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah’s visit to Islamabad on Thursday, August 28.

During the visit, Sheikh Abdullah held talks with Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, with the two sides discussing ways to strengthen defence and military cooperation between the two countries.

They also exchanged views on regional developments and efforts to promote security and stability in the region, the Kuwait Army said in a statement.

The two ministers signed the agreement, which the statement described as a “significant step in defence and military cooperation between the two countries.”

According to the Kuwait Army, the agreement is intended to enhance operational coordination, facilitate the exchange of expertise and promote greater integration between the two countries’ armed forces, serving their common interests and supporting regional security and stability.
