Samsung reveals its most extreme gaming monitor yet

Samsung has unveiled its latest lineup of Odyssey gaming monitors at Gamescom, showcasing a series of high-performance displays featuring record-setting refresh rates and new form factors, The Verge reports.

Among the headline products is the 27-inch Odyssey G6 G60H, which Samsung has upgraded to an impressive 1,100Hz refresh rate for its final launch specification. The figure is slightly higher than the 1,040Hz rate the company announced for the monitor at CES 2026.

The Odyssey G6 remains a dual-mode gaming monitor with an IPS-based panel and a 1ms response time. Its maximum 1,100Hz refresh rate is available only at 1080p, while switching to the monitor’s native 1440p resolution provides a still-exceptional 600Hz refresh rate.

Samsung has not disclosed pricing or a specific release date for the Odyssey G6, but said the monitor will be available globally by the end of 2026.

The company also introduced an updated Odyssey OLED G9, which it describes as the “world’s first 49-inch DQHD gaming monitor with a 360Hz refresh rate.” The new ultrawide display supports 360Hz at 5,120 × 1,440 resolution, while a dual-HD mode enables refresh rates of up to 720Hz at 2,560 × 720.

The OLED G9 also features an ultra-fast 0.03ms response time and peak brightness of up to 1,300 nits.

Samsung’s new 32-inch Odyssey OLED G8 offers users three display modes: UHD at 360Hz, QHD at 520Hz and FHD at 680Hz.

Rounding out the lineup is the Odyssey OLED G7, which Samsung calls the “world’s first 42-inch 16:9 curved OLED gaming monitor.” It features 4K resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate and a 1000R curvature, making it substantially larger than the previous 32-inch G7.

Samsung has yet to announce pricing or release dates for the 2027 Odyssey lineup, noting that availability will vary by market.
