Houthis reveal number of attacked Israeli ships
Leader of Yemen's Ansar Allah movement Abdul-Malik al-Houthi has said that since November 2023, Houthi rebels from the movement have attacked at least 182 vessels they believe are linked to Israel.
"This week, we have conducted 21 operations using ballistic and cruise missiles, drones, and boats. The number of ships targeted due to their connection with Israel and their violation of the existing embargo has reached 182," he added, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
Following the escalation of the conflict in the Gaza Strip, the Ansar Allah movement warned that it would target Israeli territory and prevent vessels from navigating through the Red Sea and the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait until the operation in the Palestinian enclave ceases. On March 14, 2024, al-Houthi announced their intention to attack commercial ships passing through the Indian Ocean around the Cape of Good Hope in southern Africa. Later, the Houthis declared that attacks on vessels would extend throughout the entire reachable area, including the Mediterranean Sea.
