Hungary’s PM-elect urges officials to report alleged document destruction
Hungarian Prime Minsiter-elect Péter Magyar, leader of the Tisza Party, has called on public officials to report alleged destruction of sensitive government documents.
In a message posted on his Facebook page, Magyar said he had received multiple reports suggesting that documents were being systematically destroyed across several ministries and state agencies. He described the materials as potentially “inconvenient,” raising concerns about possible efforts to remove or conceal information, Caliber.Az reports.
Magyar urged civil servants and other government employees with knowledge of such activities to come forward and share details with his party. He also asked them, where possible, to provide copies of any documents that had been ordered destroyed.
“If you have any information about the destruction of documents, please let us know, and if possible, send us the documents that were ordered to be destroyed,” he wrote.
