IDF airdrops 52 humanitarian aid packages over Gaza In coordination with UAE, Jordan, Egypt
On July 29, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) announced that it had carried out an airdrop of humanitarian aid over the Gaza Strip, in coordination with regional partners including the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, and Egypt.
In a statement, the IDF said that 52 aid packages containing food were dropped over both northern and southern parts of Gaza as part of an ongoing initiative to alleviate humanitarian needs in the war-torn enclave, Caliber.Az reports.
“This operation is being conducted in accordance with directives from the political echelon and led by COGAT [the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories],” the military said.
“The IDF is continuing the series of actions aimed at improving the humanitarian response in the Gaza Strip.”
According to the military, the assistance effort is part of a broader regional initiative involving close cooperation with neighbouring Arab countries.
While Israel continues to face accusations of impeding aid deliveries into the Palestinian territory, the IDF has rejected such claims.
“The IDF will continue to work in order to improve the humanitarian response in the Gaza Strip, along with the international community, while refuting the false claims of deliberate starvation in Gaza,” the statement read.
