IDF: Hamas fires rockets at Israelis from Gaza humanitarian zones
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) has said that the Palestinian radical movement Hamas has fired rockets at Israeli citizens in the southern Israeli city of Be'er Sheva.
The rockets were fired from a camp for evacuated Gaza civilians in Rafah, Caliber.Az reports, citing the IDF Telegram channel.
"[Hamas] launched a rocket from the humanitarian zone. The rocket misfired, putting many Gaza civilians at risk," the IDF said in a statement.
The statement notes that Hamas' actions threaten not only Israelis but also the people of Gaza, whom they use as human shields.
"Hamas cynically infiltrates civilian infrastructure, schools, residential areas, near United Nations facilities and even humanitarian zones," it said.
Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates has circulated to the members of the United Nations Security Council a draft resolution aimed at a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, according to UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
"The UAE has submitted a draft resolution to the Security Council demanding an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip for humanitarian reasons, as a catastrophic situation persists in the enclave, exacerbating the suffering of the brotherly Palestinian people," he said.
