Ilham Aliyev to Aghali residents: Life will get in full swing here PHOTO

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva traveled to Aghali village of Zangilan region on October 19.

Caliber.Az reports with reference to the presidential press service that the head of state and first lady met with schoolchildren and teachers of a secondary school and residents of Aghali village.

Welcoming the schoolchildren of Aghali school, President Ilham Aliyev said:

- Guys, come on, show me the school, let's go.

Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva: Can we take a picture first?

President Ilham Aliyev: Let's take a picture, right in front of the school.

Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva: Let's take a picture.

President Ilham Aliyev: Let's go and show your school, let's see how children study here. Let's see classrooms. Which grade are you in?

Schoolboy 1: Sixth grade.

President Ilham Aliyev: And where did you study before?

Schoolboy: In Sumgayit, in secondary school 30.

President Ilham Aliyev: In Sumgayit. And you?

Schoolboy 2: I also studied in Sumgayit.

President Ilham Aliyev: You too in Sumgayit. What about you?

Schoolboy 3: I also studied in Sumgayit, in secondary school No 15.

President Ilham Aliyev: In Sumgayit.

Schoolboy 4: I studied in Mardakan, in secondary school No 181.

President Ilham Aliyev: How about now? Do you like Aghali village?

Schoolchildren: Yes.

President Ilham Aliyev: Very well. Children are learning eagerly?

Teacher: Certainly, with great desire. Generally, when they came here and saw the school, believe me, such beautiful feelings awakened. They were happy they would study in a very good school.

President Ilham Aliyev: Children have returned to the land of their ancestors. See how beautiful your native land, your homeland, the village of Aghali is.

Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva: I asked them, is it better here than in Sumgayit? The answer is yes.

President Ilham Aliyev: Sumgayit is also a beautiful, large city. But here, of course, there is outstanding beauty, nature, air, and climate.

Schoolboy: It is better here than in Sumgayit. And the air is cleaner here.

President Ilham Aliyev: We have brought you back here, the air is clean and nature is beautiful, there are mountains and forests around. Life will get in full swing here. Soon houses will be built in other villages and in the city of Zangilan. Aghali is the first project and you are the children who are the first to arrive in the liberated lands. I am glad that you and your parents have come here so willingly because most of your parents have probably never seen Aghali either. They were also born during the occupation. But the native land attracts people. Your stay here tells us that soon we will improve the liberated lands, and former IDPs still living today in Sumgayit, Baku, and other districts will return to their ancestral lands, live and create here, and raise children.

Schoolchildren: Inshallah.

President Ilham Aliyev: And you must study well because not only do you need it, our country needs it. Because guys like you will govern our country in the future. Therefore, you should be educated, literate, and always be patriots. Every Azerbaijani can be a patriot by right. Because we have returned to our lands at the cost of shed blood. Our heroic Martyrs sacrificed their lives so that you and hundreds of thousands of Azerbaijanis could return to their ancestral lands. Tomorrow is the second anniversary of the liberation of Zangilan. Time flies quickly, but there is already a lot of constructive work underway. Your major task is to study, listen to your parents and teachers, and become worthy citizens in the future.

Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva: What do you do after lessons? The weather is nice here, probably you meet and play in the open air. You probably talk to your friends who stayed in Sumgayit school. You could invite them too, let them come and visit you from time to time. Work is going on here. Where are your houses? Can you see them from here?

Schoolboy: Yes, you can see our house, it has two floors.

Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva: Is it that two-storey?

Schoolgirl: Yes.

President Ilham Aliyev: Don't you get bored here?

Resident: I have been provided with a flat in Sumgayit. They say I will be provided when my turn comes.

President Ilham Aliyev: You are from Aghali?

Resident: Yes, I used to work as a teacher in Aghali.

President Ilham Aliyev: In that case, you should surely be given a house.

Resident: Thank you very much, may Allah be pleased with you. Most of them are my students.

Resident: I was in the army during the occupation, I was fighting. In 1996 I demobilized and lived in Baku.

Resident: Yes, in Baku. I thank God, we dreamed so much about these places, and we prayed so much.

Resident (woman): We lived with longing. Thanks to our president we are living in beautiful conditions on our lands.

President Ilham Aliyev: Of course, I said we will come back. I said we would go back to our land and we have. Now we are living here. Your return means all the former IDPs will come back to their native land. Because some thought that thirty years had passed and no one would come back. But, look, you have already returned.

Resident: We used to live with a longing for these places.

President Ilham Aliyev: Yes, now these places are more beautiful than before.

Resident: It has become very beautiful. May Allah be pleased with you.

Another resident: Now we have also adapted to modern conditions, thank you very much. May Allah protect you.

President Ilham Aliyev: Yes, the conditions are also good. We have all services.
