Iran launches military drones factory in Tajikistan PHOTO
An Iranian factory for building Ababil-2 drones was inaugurated in the Tajik capital Dushanbe on May 17.
The inauguration ceremony was participated by visiting Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Bagheri and Defense Minister of Tajikistan Sherali Mirzo, IRNA reports.
Speaking during the ceremony, General Bagheri said that “we are in a position that apart from meeting our domestic need, we can export military equipment to allied and friendly countries to help increase security and sustainable peace.”
In a meeting on May 16, Bagheri and Mirzo urged the need for cooperation in the fight against terrorism. The two officials called for holding joint military drills and enhancement of military equipment, and discussed regional cooperation with the focus on Afghanistan.
The Tajik defense minister welcomed Iran’s plans for joint cooperation on fight against terrorism, organized crimes and drug trafficking, and said that holding joint military drills and enforcement of military equipment are among top priorities of the armed forces of Iran and Tajikistan.
The Ababil-2 drone is designed for reconnaissance, surveillance and destruction. Its GPS control is capable of conducting reconnaissance at a distance of up to 200 km for an hour and a half.
The drone is also equipped with special equipment that allows you to effectively track enemy targets.
