Iranian professor accuses US VP of reporting to Netanyahu during Islamabad talks
A professor at the University of Tehran, Mohammad Marandi, has claimed that US Vice President JD Vance repeatedly called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during negotiations in Islamabad and provided him with updates.
He said any American should be offended and shocked that the Vice President of the United States reports to this insignificant colony, Caliber.Az reports, citing Press TV.
Marandi also noted that the Iranian delegation did not contact Tehran at any point during the negotiations.
Before the trip to Islamabad, the head of Iran’s negotiating team, parliamentary speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, discussed the framework of the talks with Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei before beginning the negotiations.
According to him, Netanyahu effectively blocked a deal that would have been in the United States’ interest, arguing that the closure of the Strait of Hormuz could soon lead to catastrophic consequences.
