IRGC threatens to destroy all US regional infrastructure if Trump strikes
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued a severe warning to Washington, declaring that all American military and strategic infrastructure in the Middle East will be "destroyed" if U.S. President Donald Trump follows through on his threats to strike Iranian domestic targets.
The statement, released by Iran's military press service and carried by the state-affiliated Fars News Agency on Thursday, marks a sharp escalation in rhetoric amid a volatile breakdown of a short-lived bilateral ceasefire. The IRGC warned that Iran’s previous operational restraint would give way to overwhelming retaliatory strikes.
"If the threats recently voiced by the President of the United States regarding strikes on the infrastructure of the Islamic Republic of Iran by that country’s military are realized, then everything that has still remained untouched thanks to Iran's restraint—that is, all infrastructure in the region—will be destroyed by the powerful strikes of the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, so that not a trace of it will remain, as if it had never existed," the military press service said.
The command further emphasised that the strategic Strait of Hormuz—the world's most critical maritime energy chokepoint—remains an inviolable "red line" for Tehran. The statement warned that Iran would under no circumstances tolerate American military interference or attempts by Washington to seize administrative control of the waterway.
The threats from the IRGC follow recent statements by President Trump, who warned that the U.S. military would target Iranian domestic infrastructure, including power plants and bridges, if negotiations failed. While issuing the ultimatum, Trump simultaneously noted that he remained open to a comprehensive diplomatic agreement to end the hostilities.
