Israeli forces conduct precision strike on Hamas militant In Gaza’s humanitarian area
Israeli Defence Forces carried out an intelligence-led strike targeting a Hamas militant operating in the Humanitarian Area of Khan Yunis.
According to IDF, before the strike, multiple measures were taken to minimize the risk of civilian casualties, including the use of precise munitions, aerial surveillance, and additional intelligence, Caliber.Az reports citing IDF's statement on Telegram.
"The IDF will continue its operations against Hamas in defence of Israel's citizens," it says.
Note that, Israeli forces have continued their bombardment of Gaza, with an airstrike on a vehicle in the al-Mawasi area, which is designated as a “safe zone,” killing two people. The attack follows a recent strike in the same area that left at least seven dead. Meanwhile, rescue operations are ongoing.
The head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) condemned Israel’s intensifying airstrikes in Gaza, emphasizing that attacks on schools and hospitals have become “routine” over the past 24 hours.
The director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, which remains under siege, warned that it would be “almost impossible” to comply with Israeli orders to evacuate, as nearly 400 civilians, including babies in need of incubators and oxygen, are sheltered within the facility.
Moreover, in Lebanon, Israel’s military launched a “major bombing operation” on Kfar Kila, a town near the border, in breach of a ceasefire agreed upon last month, according to local media reports.
Since the outbreak of the conflict on October 7, 2023, Israel’s airstrikes on Gaza have killed at least 45,259 Palestinians and wounded 107,627. In contrast, Hamas-led attacks in Israel on the same day killed at least 1,139 people, and more than 200 were taken captive.
