Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is closely monitoring developments, maintaining contact with local authorities as emergency teams work to secure the area.
The Teano metro station has been shut down on police orders amid ongoing safety concerns.
Five victims with minor burns and injuries caused by flying glass have been hospitalised, while advanced medical posts have been set up to support firefighters and other emergency personnel.
The cause of the explosion remains under investigation, with officials not ruling out a gas leak. Authorities continue to urge caution as the clean-up and safety checks proceed.
