Kazakhstan, Iran discuss security threats to the Caspian Sea
Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister, Murat Nurtleu, and his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, discussed security threats to the Caspian Sea during a phone call, Caliber.Az reports citing Kazakh media.
“US and Zionist regime strikes on Iran’s northern port city of Bandar Anzali have endangered the security and stability of the Caspian Sea,” Araghchi stated.
He called for a coordinated response from the Caspian littoral states.
Araghchi also stressed the necessity of Iran’s defensive operations against the bases and capabilities of aggressors in the region, and reaffirmed the country’s inherent right to self-defence, as well as the legal and ethical responsibility of all regional states to prevent aggressors from using their territory and resources to carry out hostile actions against Iran.
During the conversation, Iran’s foreign minister also “provided a detailed account of the crimes committed by American and Israeli aggressors.”
