Armenian opposition leader warns of Turkish arrival if Russian forces leave

Samvel Karapetyan, leader of the Strong Armenia bloc, has warned that Türkiye could fill the security vacuum in Armenia if Russia withdraws its military presence from the country.

Armenian media outlets reported that Karapetyan was commenting on the possibility of the Russian 102nd Military Base being withdrawn from Armenia.

“If there are no Russians, the Turks will come,” Karapetyan said.
