Kremlin-dominant CIS chief credits Azerbaijan’s international standing
Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Sergei Lebedev has sent a congratulatory letter to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
“Please accept my heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of the Day of Restoration of State Independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan. October 18, 1991, is a special date in the history of Azerbaijani statehood, when the Azerbaijani people made their choice in favour of further sovereign development,” Caliber.Az reports, citing the letter.
“Over the past years, Azerbaijan has been well-recognised in the world and has become a country actively developing international relations, consistently pursuing an independent foreign policy. The transformations being implemented under your leadership in the economy, social and socio-political spheres contribute to the further development of the country and the growth of the well-being of the population. I wish robust health, prosperity and success in multifaceted state activity to you and peace and prosperity to the Azerbaijani people,” the letter reads.
