Kyrgyzstan, China expand multilateral, economic cooperation
Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has met with Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister of China, Wang Yi, to discuss the deepening of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two nations.
The meeting focused on strengthening political dialogue and advancing joint projects across a range of sectors, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Kyrgyz Presidential Administration.
President Japarov emphasized that Kyrgyz–Chinese relations are currently at an all-time high, noting that each visit by Wang Yi introduces new ideas for expanding the two countries’ strategic partnership. He placed particular emphasis on practical cooperation, including the construction of railways and highways, the opening of new air routes, and the implementation of collaborative initiatives in various fields.
Japarov also highlighted the importance of expanding multilateral engagement — particularly within the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) and the “Central Asia–China” cooperation format.
Wang Yi conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from Chinese President Xi Jinping and reaffirmed Beijing’s readiness to work toward implementing the agreements reached at the highest level. Reflecting on his previous visit three years ago, Wang Yi remarked that Kyrgyzstan has achieved “significant progress” during that period.
He also stressed that Chinese companies operating in Kyrgyzstan are being instructed to strictly comply with national laws and respect local customs and traditions.
At the conclusion of the meeting, President Japarov conveyed his own greetings and best wishes to President Xi Jinping and wished Wang Yi success in his state activities.
