Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan agree to stabilize situation on border
The chairmen of the State Committees for National Security of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan signed a protocol on stabilizing the situation on the border and establishing peace between the two states.
The remarks came from the head of the Kyrgyz committee Kamchybek Tashiev on September 19, according to the Turmush news service of Kyrgyzstan.
“The main point of the protocol is the stabilization of the situation and the establishment of peace between the two countries [and] the work to resolve the situation. From the Kyrgyz side, I signed, from the Tajik side, the chairman of the State Committee for National Security, Saimumin Yatimov,” said Tashiev.
He added that the situation is "gradually" stabilizing in the Batken region of Kyrgyzstan on the border with Tajikistan.
