Trump says Russia "not playing games" with US
Russia “is not playing games” with the United States, and Washington is doing the same, US President Donald Trump said.
He made the remarks while commenting on reports of Russia’s Burevestnik missile test during a press briefing aboard Air Force One, as broadcast by the White House.
The president noted that the United States regularly conducts missile tests but emphasised that, with its nuclear submarines, it does not need to launch missiles from such long distances.
He also said his administration might consider imposing additional sanctions on Russia, adding in response to a question about possible new restrictions that the matter would become clear soon.
Trump further expressed willingness to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un if he shows interest and said he hopes Chinese President Xi Jinping will visit the United States following his own trip to China. According to him, the meeting could take place either in Washington or in Florida.
Addressing a question on whether the European Union should use frozen Russian assets to support Ukraine amid the ongoing conflict, Trump declined to comment, stating that the issue should be decided by EU leaders and that he was not involved in the process.
