Armenia seeks broader diplomatic agenda beyond Azerbaijan, foreign minister says

27 October 2025 15:37

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has emphasized that Armenia’s strategic objectives for 2026, alongside the progress achieved to date, extend merely normalizing ties with Azerbaijan or institutionalizing the existing peace framework, encompassing a far broader agenda.

Mirzoyan made the remarks during discussions on the draft law “On the State Budget of the Republic of Armenia for 2026” in the National Assembly, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.

“We are engaged in a very intensive dialogue with our Turkish partners, spanning the highest levels of leadership—including Prime Minister Pashinyan and President Erdoğan—our permanent representatives, foreign ministers, teams from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other relevant agencies,” Mirzoyan stated.

“I view this very positively and wish to express optimism regarding this dialogue. I hope that in the near future we will achieve tangible results, accomplishments, and agreements in this area,” the Armenian FM added.
