Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan to set up surveillance cameras on disputed border sections

Chairman of Kyrgyzstan’s State Committee for National Security, Kamchybek Tashiev, and his colleague from Tajikistan, Saimumin Yatimov, have agreed to install video surveillance cameras in sections of the border where conflict situations most often arise.
The announcement came online on a Telegram channel of the Border Service of Kyrgyzstan’s State Committee for National Security on September 25.
The installation of cameras is one of the articles of the protocol, which was signed on September 25 by the heads of the special services of the two Central Asian countries.
In line with the document, the parties will continue the withdrawal of troops and heavy military equipment from the border areas to the places of permanent deployment.
